Fire-Resistant Window System

Overview

A fire-resistant window is a certified assembly of non-combustible frames (e.g., steel or engineered aluminum) and fire-rated glazing (e.g., ceramic or intumescent laminated glass). It maintains integrity and insulation for 30, 60, or 90 minutes during a fire, effectively blocking flames, smoke, and radiant heat.

Key Features

· Functions as a regular architectural window for daylight, visibility, and optional ventilation.

· Automatically acts as a fire barrier when exposed to high temperatures.

· Helps contain fire, supports safe evacuation, and limits property damage.

Typical Applications

· Exterior walls where required fire separation distances are reduced.

· Openings in firewalls or rated partitions needing vision or airflow (e.g., corridors, stairwells, atriums).

· High-rises, hospitals, schools, and mixed-use buildings requiring code-compliant compartmentation.

Compliance

· Complies with GB 16809–2008 “Fire Resistant Windows.”

· Each unit is furnace-tested to verify fire integrity and insulation per its rating.
