Laminated glass is a high-performance composite safety glazing fabricated by permanently bonding two or more layers of glass with one or more interlayers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) film under elevated temperature and pressure. The PVB interlayer—renowned for its exceptional toughness and adhesion—acts as a resilient energy-absorbing membrane. In the event of breakage due to impact, the PVB layer holds shattered glass fragments firmly in place, preventing them from detaching or falling.
