Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is a high-performance composite safety glazing fabricated by permanently bonding two or more layers of glass with one or more interlayers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) film under elevated temperature and pressure. The PVB interlayer—renowned for its exceptional toughness and adhesion—acts as a resilient energy-absorbing membrane. In the event of breakage due to impact, the PVB layer holds shattered glass fragments firmly in place, preventing them from detaching or falling. This unique behavior ensures structural continuity, personal safety, and weather protection—even after damage—making laminated glass a true safety glazing solution.

Key Features

·Exceptional Safety & Security: The strong molecular bond between the PVB interlayer and glass ensures that, whether installed vertically, inclined, or overhead, the unit resists penetration and retains integrity upon impact. Even when fractured, glass shards remain adhered to the interlayer, eliminating the risk of injury from falling debris and maintaining a barrier against wind, rain, and further intrusion.

·Advanced UV Protection: Standard PVB interlayers block ≥99.5% of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, significantly reducing fading and degradation of interior furnishings, textiles, artwork, flooring, and collectibles. Specialty PVB formulations can further modulate solar transmission, offering glare control and enhanced visual comfort.

·Decorative Versatility: Aesthetic customization is achieved by embedding decorative elements—such as cloud-dragon paper, printed PET films, or colored interlayers—between the glass plies, enabling elegant, bespoke designs for architectural and interior applications.

·Solar Control & Energy Efficiency: By selectively reducing solar heat gain and visible light transmission, laminated glass contributes to lower cooling loads and improved building energy performance—particularly when combined with tinted or coated glass substrates.

·Ballistic & Blast Resistance (Optional): Due to PVB’s high energy-absorption capacity, multi-layer laminated configurations can be engineered to meet ballistic or explosion-resistant standards, effectively containing projectiles or blast fragments without full penetration.

Applications

Thanks to its safety, durability, and design flexibility, laminated glass is widely specified in:

·Building façades, curtain walls, and glazed windows/doors

   ·Skylights, canopies, and overhead glazing

·Structural glass floors and stair treads

·Interior partitions, balustrades, and display counters

   ·Aquariums and large-format showcase panels

   ·Furniture and decorative architectural features

Technical Specifications

·Maximum Size: 2,500 mm × 6,000 mm(For curved laminated units, dimensions are limited by the bending capabilities of the base glass)

·Glass Thickness Range: 3 mm – 19 mm (per lite)

·PVB Interlayer Thickness: Standard 0.38 mm, available in multiples (e.g., 0.76 mm, 1.14 mm, etc.) for enhanced performance

   ·Quality & Compliance:

·Complies with GB 9962–1999: Laminated Glass (China National Standard)

·Certified under the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) for safety glass products
